Raw, Phwoar

With raw snacks popping up all over i’ve become a little hooked. Here are some of my favorite locally made raw sweet treats.

How does, raw lemon, ginger and turmeric sound to you? Curious you say, well delicious I say, and it is. With it’s colour, bright pink & yellow and it’s texture, this little treat is a wonderful, refreshing departure from all the raw chocolate that’s taking the raw desserts world by storm. A visual treat and a taste sensation.

This little number is made by lovely Bristol lady Zowie who is just starting out in the world of raw delights. Available at Harvest, Gloucester Road.

Now onto the not so bad boy… Choc mint layered torte with coconut & spinach.
This is a torte of epic proportions. The way the mint cuts through the coconut and spinach is heavenly, its sweetened with xylitol (found naturally in the fibers of many fruits & veg) and packed with gingko biloba & baobab. This truly is a sure-fire energy boosting hit.

This torte kept me going through the depths of winter, my gluten free diet and my pop up shop debut. (But that’s another story)

Made by the awesome Rawsome Go hit up the deli counter at Harvest, Gloucester Road or Radford Mill on Picton St.

Chocolate, beetroot & berry torte.

Another one of my Rawsome favorites – Chocolate, beetroot & berry torte.

Last but not least and sadly without a picture, because I ate it too quickly!

Radek’s raw chocolate brownie, is a complete and utter treat, a pure indulgence. Sweetened with coconut sugar, this brownie is smooth, cool and super rich. These little beauties are not your average brownie. Get your fix at Cafe Kino Stokes Croft or Harvest stores, Bristol & Bath
